Palestinian medical aid team heads to hurricane hit Caribbean

Palestinian Health Minister Jawad Awwad announced yesterday that a Palestinian medical team had travelled to the Caribbean to offer help to people hit by the category five hurricane, Raya.ps reported. In a statement, the minister said the team travelled on Sunday on the orders of Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas. A number of other Palestinian teams also travelled to the Caribbean including specialists in safety measures, first aid and emergency treatment. The medical team consists of a pediatric surgeon, general surgeon, chest and vascular surgeon and orthopedic surgeon, the statement said.
